Hey Roy, welcome back to the C1/C2 forum!
If the weather is beautiful, I drive the 65 if I want to experience a loud car, the 07 if I want to go for a nice comfortable cruise, and the 62 if I want to experience the fine tractor-like qualities of driving a sports car around the time I was born.
Seriously though, it is all about what experience I wish to have.
Now if the roads are a bit damp, or there's a chance of rain, I'll drive whichever one is the dirtiest, cause I don't like having too many cars to wash looming over my head.
I think I would just try to make time to drive both of them, if possible......Sometimes lifes decisions get to be pretty difficult tho.....Which ever one you decide just remember to ENJOY AND DON' T FORGET TO WAVE!!
I put about the same time in on each , both are great Corvettes to drive, my wife likes getting in&out of the old 55 wear as the new one is harder for her. We've taken long trips in the 55 , now it's time for the new one to do the same.
That's what we did yesterday. Took the 60 for the Sunday top-down breakfast run and then picked up the 65 to go tend to a friend's house while he's in Alaska.
Roy, those are both great looking cars!

P.S. That was before I took the seat frame out of the 60!

Reason: correction
Until they do something to I-80 I would take the new one. You may have some parts missing on the c1 if you had to drive to far on that crappy piece of highway. If I were you guys I'd find out who in Caltrans is stealing your money. I rode my bike over to Washington yesterday, and thought I was gonna have to replace the shocks when I got home! By the way, nice cars. There's a corvette wingding at the Sparks Nugget in June. Sure would like to see that nice c1 there.
