Engine colors

On a '66 427/425 what color should the valve covers, intake manifold and bell housing be?

as the other stated, but I thought that they were painted at the same time also, so if the block is a different hue then the vc's that could be an issue if you get the car judged...

How did they paint the block and valve covers at the same time and leave the intake natural? And then did the bell housing just get over spray from the the spraying of the block?

They had a piece of cardboard (or something similar) to cover the intake.

The bell housing had a lot of paint on it.

Bell housing was attached prior to painting the engine so mounting bolts are painted also. The intake was on, so overspray onto the intake is "correct".
