John Z, I just had to ask this question, being that you were a plant manager at Conner avenue home of the Viper. Do you or have you ever owned a Viper.
Nope, didn't need to - always had one available as a company car. Tried to convince the VP I worked for to let me take it with me into retirement, but he wasn't buying that. No sense of humor.
ran my own repair shop for 27 years, then sold-retired, and moved to a small town and bought a house with huge garage (s). now i'm just a bum/garage troll . now i work on/restore vettes, exotics and hot rods--->or just go for bike rides, sleep in, relax, whatever i feel like...life is good.
Sounds good to me! .. The story about the 'insanely fast' power window foiling a perp heist still cracks me up. .. ...........................
Like a few others on the forum things fell in to place for me and I was able to retire early, also (53). Every day is a 'Saturday' now, as they say. What to do with all that free time? .. Hmmmmmm .. Well, one thing I don't do is 'sleep in' more. Golf in the early morning................it's wide open after that! .. We gotta pull the pin sometime. Better to retire too early than too late! .. ..

That's so funny I'm reading all these postings and you Keeyw66 are a carpet layer / after reading about all the other guys made me feel bad . Because I also "was" a carpet layer. But with some luck and common seance I retired at age 37 and now play with cars and enjoy my kids and thier kids (11 grand kids )
I'm a professional engineer who spent 34 1/2 years managing construction contracts for the Corps of Engineers, retired last winter and then got sucked back into full time work as a retiree rehire. Trying to figure out my second exit strategy.
