Thanx for the vote of confidence Dave. The store I work at is a privately owned store. We don't have everything but we have more than most.

Nope, didn't need to - always had one available as a company car. Tried to convince the VP I worked for to let me take it with me into retirement, but he wasn't buying that. No sense of humor.

Just clocked over 20 year in the fire service. (Country Fire Authority in Victoria, Australia)

Started work as an apprentice Boilermaker (steel fabricator) in 1980 and changed to a career in emergency management in 1989.

Love being a firey as I get lots of time to spend with my daughter, 61 Corvette, garden and wife.

Sounds good to me! .. The story about the 'insanely fast' power window foiling a perp heist still cracks me up. .. ...........................

Like a few others on the forum things fell in to place for me and I was able to retire early, also (53). Every day is a 'Saturday' now, as they say. What to do with all that free time? .. Hmmmmmm .. Well, one thing I don't do is 'sleep in' more. Golf in the early morning................it's wide open after that! .. We gotta pull the pin sometime. Better to retire too early than too late! .. ..

I'm a professional engineer who spent 34 1/2 years managing construction contracts for the Corps of Engineers, retired last winter and then got sucked back into full time work as a retiree rehire. Trying to figure out my second exit strategy.
