Thinking about this '64
What's to like: power steering, power brakes, power windows, A/C, and everything works. There's a bit of surface rust around and patina but it's clean and original looking under the dash. Underbody likewise is clean with a little patina here and there. It looks like a well cared for 70k mile car. Current owner will most likely part with it for low 30s.
What's not to like: Forty five year old car rattles, sounds like they're coming from door latches, etc. Not too much in the way of squeaks. Are latches adjustable or replaceable? Also, obviously, it's a drum brake car.

(verrrry slow downloading and hard to view when they are 2 or three times larger than the browser window);
engine shots would help, too (looks like it probably has the base 250hp engine).
If it's not badly rusted at the frame rear wheel kick-ups, it might just be tired door weatherstripping that's allowing the latches to rattle
(the car was obviously repainted with the old weatherstrip left in place). The latch in the door is somewhat adjustable in all 4 directions
parallel to the door panel (loosen attaching bolts and slide, then re-tighten bolts) and in & out (with shims).
I think the latching posts are replaceable, too, if noticeably worn. Another possibility for the rattle might be the windows, perhaps
their weatherstrips or rollers are worn. You might be able to tell just by watching movement of the doors & windows, and/or jiggling them.
The frame/suspension appears to be in great condition, from what I can see from your pics. If I were looking at it, my only reservation might
be the automatic trans (you should assume you'll probably need to rebuild that before too long).
Hard to see how you could go very far wrong with an a/c car at that price,
so why not do it?

easier to view (Ctrl & - to reduce the page size)... but then, of course, you can't
read the verbiage :~)
Good luck!

My '64 came equipped just like that car....PS, PW, PB, Powerglide, Factory Air....all the "luxury" options from that era. The car is my daily driver and is a pleasure to drive, although I've replaced the air with a modern aftermarket unit and also replaced the brakes with VB&P 4-wheel discs. The white car should be a pleasure to drive.
Check out the operation of the Neutral Safety Switch. First of all, make sure it is connected. Carefully try starting the car with the tranny in Reverse, Low and Drive....it should not start in any of those gears. If the NSS is missing or defective you can expect to pay several hundred dollar$ for a good one as 63-64 NSS's are not reproduced. But that should not be a deal killer. ( The NSS Rods are available from most vendors )
If the engine and drivetrain are in decent shape it sounds like a good car for the price.
And let me suggest that you go back and try to resize those pics while this thread is active, you might get more opinions on the car.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Very few of these cars have escaped 40 years without getting tapped somewhere. Fiberglass repair is fairly easy to spot from underneath the car. Check the left, rear area where that bumper appears to be bent slightly. If the repair was done properly, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The rest of the lines and gaps look really good from the pictures. There is a bolt (or something) protruding just below the radio. I'm not sure what that is but it shouldn't be there.
I am intimately familiar with 64 auto/air coupes. If you have any specific numbers questions feel free to PM or, better yet, email me. It's too bad we're not closer. I would love to see the car in person. If the car is what it appears to be in the pictures, I would not hesitate to purchase this car for the low 30's.
Remember, the car won't be perfect. They all require something. You just have to decide what you can live with and what you can't.
Good luck!
Jim

From the photos and information you have posted, it seems like a nice car for the money. About 18 months ago, I bought a '64 roadster with Powerglide, but no A/C and paid a similar price for it. Ours is also a matching numbers car, but has not had any restoration (ie: no fresh paint or rebuilt engine as yours does). Considering the fresh paint, A/C and the rebuit engine, I think the car represents a good value if the inspection does not uncover any major issues.
If you could not find someone to inspect the car for you, getting the car up on a rack and getting some detailed photos of the undercarriage would help folks here assess the car's condition for you.
Good luck with it - I hope you are able to get it inspected and make a deal. I think '64's are
, but I'm biased...Todd
That is either my old '64 coupe or it's twin (how many white/black, auto, full power with A/C '64 coupes are there in California?). It was a great driver but had a replacement nose so look closely! No matter what, a nice A/C car for the low 30's is a great deal.
You're spending $30K. Spend another $500 to make sure you're not buying a liability.
On the surface, looks like a great car.
