Need help with regulator.
1964 original style. On start-up, voltmeter won't show charge (14V.) until engine is revved up to around 2500RPM. Then it's good till next start-up. I know that there is an air-gap adjustment and a set screw adjustment. Would either of these correct the problem ?
Thanks !!

my suggestion..go to your flaps and spend less than 20 bucks on a new style solid state regulator and swap the cap from your old one....no adjustment needed....... is the belt tight??
Thanks for the tip! I presume FLAPS is a supply house? Don't have them here in Chicago area, but will check a local NAPA. Any wiring changes necessary?
Go to your Friendly Local Auto Parts Store (FLAPS) and ask for a Wells VR715 solid state voltage regulator. You can then swap your original cover for the one on the Wells with very little trouble. No alterations needed on wiring. Auto Zone has them for around $15. Dave
As Dave clarified, FLAPS is just an acronym for any auto store near you.
I'd never heard of the term before coming to the corvette forum, so it's either because:
a) It is unique to Internet automotive forums
b) I live a sheltered life
c) Both a & b
