I can't tell you where to buy the wrench but in many owner's opinion, the lead hammer is a cheaper and better alternative. I have two of them. One for each car and carry it with me.

HERE is a small tool that may work better than either the hammer or the long handled wrench. If you use FaceBook, HERE is a video that demonstrates the use of the tool.

Interesting tool. The video clearly shows one reason you shouldn't over tighten a KO spinner nut.

It looks like it would be useless with typical Corvette KO's? There is nowhere to put the round anchor end in the rim...unless I'm not getting the big picture?

Now that I think about it, I believe that you're right.

I use a lead hammer but put a piece of old tire I cut from a used tire between the hammer and the spinner. Six good whacks - never had one come loose.

Here's the thing Saint ... if you can jump on that tool bar, maybe ... I'll say it again, MAYBE you can get 250 lbs of torque on your spinner. But guess what? You NEED 450 lbs. Ain't gonna happen with any tool ... other than whacking the beejesus out of it with a beefy lead hammer.

So put your wheels on with that tool ... the reach for your the lead hammer out and tighten them up so they won't come off. Just saying. Bill

Years ago when I bought my '66 I used a lead hammer on the repro KOs, but was always fearful I would miss the spinner and hit the wheel, the fender, etc.

So then I bought a wrench. Found out that it was not a good solution.

Sold the KOs and bought direct bolt KOs. Now I'm happy.

How does that tool not damage the chrome? Why are folks afraid of the lead hammers the manufacturer specified and long time experts here, there and everywhere suggest?
