Powerglide problem

Powerglide problem
In my 1965 Vette..I just can't seem to get my 2 speed powerglide trans out of neutral. Try as I may..any suggestions??? Thanks..Jim

A little more info . . . .
You can't move the gearshift selector lever?
Or, when you move it, it doesn't go into any gear?

Check make sure the fluid is red, doesn't smell burnt, and at the right level. And check your linkage, you may have a disconnected or loose rod. My truck just did the same thing.....a cotter pin rusted through and the rod slid out of the lever. Shifter moved but nothing happened.

Yeah, sounds like a linkage-related problem if it happened all of a sudden, with no warning changes in transmission performance, noises, etc.

Check underneath to see if one of the linkage retainer spring clips has come loose somehow (pic attached).
