I was thinking of getting the front nose mask ( bra) to help protect the front end of my 63. It would be only for driving to shows, has any one installed, had any good luck with the nose mask?? or any other nose protecting for driving?
thanks!!!
I use one religiously on my '61..you just have to be careful of paint fading if you keep it on ALL the time and clear coat clouding if you get moisture under it. I can't tell you how many rock chips its saved me from (I've had my nose resprayed twice and I'm not taking any more chances). Not even counting how many hundreds of Florida 'love bugs' its kept off the paint.

Can't say ... my 61 has 5 straps that go from the top of the bra over the hood surround and down in front of the radiator and these clip to the bottom 'loops' on the bra that are passed through the grille. The left and right ends have bendable 'tabs' on them that wrap around into the fender well. It seems gimpy but several years of use and its never given a minute's trouble and I can have it on and/or off in literally under a minute now.
Although not a 63 I sometimes use one on my 62 if it's an extended highway drive to a car show.I had to modify the straps that go through the grill because of having a custom mesh grill.
No, after a year of steady use...there is no effect on the paint PROVIDED you remove it on occasion to let the paint 'fade' evenly under the bra and do not leave the bra on the car with moisture underneath. Doesn't scratch or blur the paint from sliding around at speed.
I drive my 63 often from Las Vegas to Southern California, about 300 miles each way. I wanted to get one of those masks for the front but I was scared it would ruin the paint. I been using a product called "ROAD WRAP" that comes in a roll and you stick it on the front of the car and then peel it off and throw it away when you get to where you're going. It leaves a slight bit of sticky stuff on that you can use Windex to wipe off with. I would rather have the mask such as the one from ZIP. Does it have some sort of soft cloth on the side that touches the paint? I drive about 75 to 80 MPH on the way to California as that is the speed the traffic flows on I 15 between Vegas and So Cal and I'm concerned that a mask will flutter at that speed and screw up my paint. Is the Wolf mask from Zip a tight fit?

Wolf mask from Zip, but I made the bumper and valence covers
mask sold and made by others
I went to ZIP website to find the WOLF MASK but could not find it under MASK or BRA. Can you tell me where you found it? Maybe they don't have it for a 63. did you get yours a long time ago?

I went with the 3M clear bra material. It's been on for 3 years and looks great. My car is sunfire yellow and it's hardly noticeable. I also did the rear quarter. panels behind the rear tires. No chips and everything wipes right off.

Cost was about 500. but well worth it.

I bought a roll of clear plastic wrapping film, the thin stuff they wrap boxes with on a pallet.....I cover the nose then put the bra over that. no paint damage at all.
Just a note. I tried to get one like Magic's and if I recall Zip does not carry that one any more. I really like the fit and the cut-out around the stinger on the nose of Dave's mask. I thought I was getting the same thing from Willcox but the one I received covers the bumpers as well (unless I was not laying it out correctly). Haven't installed it because I'd rather have one that does not cover the bumpers in a one-piece set up.
im just trying to fiqure out how to install it correctly, or if i should get a different brand besides car craft??? i would love to get a clear static style to put on and take off at the shows
After finding out I can no longer get the Zip bra for a C2 I decided to have the clear stuff put on the car. It has to be custom fit as they don't have a computer pattern for C2 Corvettes. I was assured that it will come out perfect but what else would they say. I'll get the car back tonight.
