Very impressive write up, Tom - Thanks! I knew you have quality products, having used one previously in my '92, but now I understand the what, why, and how!
I crossed America with a new De Witt's, on my 48 state trip. I almost died of the heat , 120 degrees, Palm Springs to Prescott AZ. Not a single problem with overheating of engine,
I'm a true fan of Dewitt's not just because the are the only game in town for a correct radiator that looks and just as important works like my original did in my 66 until it started to seep a little.
But I would like to share a recent experience, I just got my 66 back together after about a five year frame on restoration and I found coolant dripping down the rear center of my five year old Dewitt's radiator, not anywhere near a radiator hose. I thought the worst but checked the three hose connections and found no coolant.
I just knew I was about to another $800. on a radiator so I emailed Dewitt's tech line and asked if it could be repaired and I was told to check my Tower clamps again (as they were notorious for leaking) and if not send the radiator back to them for a NO Charge repair.
Well it turned out not to be the radiator but a very, very slow leak at the top hose connection that was fixed by a cheap screw clamp.
How many companies stand behind their products like Dewitt's just did with me? Not many, I've every met in this hobby!!
If I had a business I would want my name to carry the same reputation for fair dealing and quality products that Tom Dewitt's does. Of course its hard to do when your name is Fink.
Besides the trouble free installation and performance it just has a great look.
Now if they could just design an aluminum spacer for in between the radiator and shroud.
