Good news-Bad news for QIK59
Good news-Prozac is cheap in Canada.
Bad news-It doesn't do any good for depression/anxiety/hostility/anti-social behavior unless one takes it. (from what I've heard-I'm more into Yuengling and Guiness)
Try CFOT, our loss will be their gain....

Can I go out on a limb here and say intimate knowledge about Prozac is not a good thing....
You retrorod/restromod people really walk a different walk, and talk a different talk. That’s one of the reasons I post here, you guys are a real hoot, and much more colorful then over at the NCRS.

Greetings from a few hours south-west of you Frank.
You sure have made progress since your first post, looking great.
I've always found that the factory power windows on my '62 were slow compared to a modern car, seems to be related to the felts at the top, how are yours?

I'd be done except for the wait on parts...amazing sometimes the stuff that's back-ordered. Southwest of me ?
That means Tampa or below...you must be trying to warm up before the Northern blizzards.
The SPW power window motors are darn fast....not sure I'd want them to go up any quicker.....might even be dangerous. They are powerful too...they will run right past the upper window stops if they aren't adjusted exactly right. So I can't see the window felt slowing them down one bit.
I wouldn't be surprised if the original power windows are slow...I think that is part of why GM and others switched to the Type 3 (polarity reversing) motors some time in the '80s.

Frank:
Those switches look great. If I'm correct and the cardboard is the only thing holding the switches in, I would suggest putting some kind of metal retainer on the back to keep them from falling out.

I also thought the switch mounting might be sloppy but its not. If you make nice clean, crisp cuts on that stiff cardboard backer material the switches 'lock in' pretty solidly. I think I'll go with them like they are for now.

AutoCity PW Switches for Early Vettes
I bought my AutoCity Power Window Kit for my '61 a couple years ago. Haven't had 'working room' in the garage to do the installation yet. Here's a pic of the PW switches that came with the kit.

Do you have a pic of the back of those switches ?
If they are exact copies of the originals (as claimed) including
the electrical function they will not work with polarity reversing motors
unless relays are added.

I do not know or care about what Mike does.
My reference to cobble ; is when something is assembled from parts or components for an application for which they were never intended.
To me those switch's look out of place, but to an automotive neophyte they probably look fine.
It seems anybody trying to make money is sacred - whether a company or an individual - don't say anything less than flattering about them, right ??

Nice...prob best way to go if you're trying for the original look.

I agree, that is if they are the original PW switches, unlike the photos above. (PW bezels & switches are correct, however the backing & wire configuration is non-original), reproductions. A much better selection to use in an earlier period 56 Chevrolet through Corvette C-1 over mid 60's early 80's retro switches.
But there is nothing like the real thing baby!
Just my two cents, rustylugnuts

So Paragon finally sent me the 'factory' conduits (as shown in the SPW kit) on their web site to replace the chrome spring versions and they are the WRONG thing. They are conduits, and, they are for power windows but they have the wrong flange for the door...the conduits are too short to reach the door jamb with the door fully open and they only have two 'tabs' on the bottom to hold the wires. Don't know what they are off of. So -- another hold up...

Frank, here are a couple pics of the conduits supplied with the AutoCity PW Kit I got for my 61. From what I've seen in past threads, they appear to be close to what the originals would look like but again, that's only going off pics, not a side by side comparison.

Yeah - if I had it to do over again I'd have gone the Auto City route. I'm having to flail around and assemble the parts I really want and its getting frustrating and keeping my car off the road...

Close, but we're a bit further south in Ft-Meyers Beach. We've been before and really liked it, like old Florida, still bungalows on the beach and few condos and big hotels.
I'm sure your windows will be faster than my old unrestored ones, but with mine they were quite a bit faster when I tried them once with the posts out. I'm wondering if repro channel felts are too tight, or maybe my system is due for an overhaul?
Well off to bed, tomorrow the muscle car museum in Punta Gorda.
