Will the few dollars saved pay for the damage caused when the bracket fails and the alternator falls off at 45 mph like mine almost did.

Solution

Was not very painful. I ordered a new set of shorty headers from Summit (Stainless Steel) $199.95 Replaced the existing headers and they work like a charm.

Anyone wanna buy a barely used set of Sanderson Shorties for $120?

Am I understanding that price correctly -only $ 199.95 for a set of stainless steel headers? Seems way low by comparison to when I was looking! If so, I think you got a great deal!

The oval port headers will work fine, assuming you don't have anything weird going on (like "raised ports). I don't think I've ever even seen "D" port headers.

Yes, they are available on a special order basis from McJacks. I bought mine about a year ago. Nice workmanship, ceramic coated outside and copper coated inside, perfect fit. They were, uh, a little more expensive than $199.95.
