Ran into another mid year!!
I took my coupe out for a little cruise this past Saturday afternoon and for the third time in the eleven years that I've had the car, I ran into another mid-year while driving mine.
I was at a light waiting to make right turn. I looked in my rear view mirror and lo and behold there was a red convertible!! I gave him a big thumbs up which he enthusiastically returned.
He came up next to me and waved.
It was either a '65 or 66 with a 396 big block hood.
That was nice. I've seen other midyears out on the weekends, but I'm not usually driving mine.
There are not too many of these beauties around, so it is a treat to run into one!
Just thought I'd share a cool encounter!
What say you guys??

I sure hope the damage wasn't serious for either of you...

Cool encounter indeed. Maybe you should have gone to buy a lotto ticket afterward?
My similar encounters: The first time my wife and I took our '64 out for a drive after getting the car, we passed another mid-year roadster riding the rural back roads. Then, last summer, I was out cruising here in area and ended up at a stop light beside another '64 roadster. Thought that was strange (but good) luck.
I'm always glad to see other folks out enjoying their old cars.

What's the big deal? Happened constantly the last time I drove a C-2. (about 1976)
Now if I had seen a C-4 or C-5, THAT would have blown my mind!
