Check with Dave Fiedler at TI Specialities.

Does a lot of Corvette tach drive distributors, but works on regular point types as well.

EXPENSIVE!!! Just FYI! I'm going to really miss having guys like Lars around to do this type of work. Surely somebody can step in and pick up the slack? It must be somewhat lucrative!?!

I've rebuilt several and it takes quite a bit of time to clean, repair, refinish and set up properly, plus the cost of replacement parts if you want it done right. If your housing has a wear groove in the cross shaft or the bushings need replaced and line bored, that all adds up. For the quality of his work, I don't think Lars was making any money with the amount of time he spent.

I'm not referring to Lars, I am referring to TI Speciality! Lars is exceptional and more than fair on price, actually underpriced in my opinion! TI speciality is about $100.00 per hour and it adds up quick. Im not saying he doesn't do good work, especially on TI units, but it is pricey!

Sorry guys I received this email from him last year. I'm glad he doing it again. He did a hell of a job on mine!

Hi Lars
Thanks for your response. Sad to hear you aren't doing distributors anymore. You did a great job on my Corvette distributor.

Thank you for your inquiry into my rebuilding services. As of June 1 2015, I am no longer accepting carbs or distributors for rebuild. If there is anything else I can do to assist, please contact me.

The question is what is your time worth, based on how long it takes, to me it would be for fun in my free time not instead of a day job

Yup, I knew that and I agree with you which is why I got up to speed on doing these on my own.

Is it possible that with all of the "cultural" changes occurring in Colorado as of late, someone assumed you may have switched to a more "lucrative" business model... ?
