Well, here's my story and I'm sticking to it. My '65 is the only Vette I've owned. Bought it in 1981. It took until 1999 (you're never really done with 'em) before she was ready for the road (body, paint and all mechanicals)
I wanted a vanity tag that reflected how I feel about this '5 and still do today. At that time the state of Michigan vanity form had a place on the form where you had to explain the plate characters (may still have that requirement today). I answered as honestly as I could. "Next to my wife, this 1965 Corvette makes my blood rush". 6T5RUSH Got a smile from the clerk as she held the letters to a mirror to see if it might be obscene
Of all the hobbies I've had over the years, golf, fishing, running, biking, rc airplanes, Corvette ownership has definitely been the one to suck the life out of my wallet. Having more than one at a time left me feeling "insurance poor", so the handle vettepoor just seemed to fit!

I must have got lucky Jim----the little lady at the counter never asked me when I plated my bike.
[QUOTE=Mikado463;1594086298]I thought this was started before but couldn't find it. Anyways, mine is derived from my favorite locomotive on my favorite railroad (Mikado#463 on the Cumbres & Toltec ex DRG&W narrow gauge) Rode behind her on my honeymoon (talking about the locomotive ..) 41 years ago.
I usually just use my ham radio call sign, AI4FR, but thought I would try something a little different when I signed on.

65 = year of vette
bota = this is for my other toy, a BX 2370 Kubota tractor, AKA my diesel powered wheelchair.
ham = well I guess I just couldn't leave out some reference to ham radio after all
My first race car was a 1972 Fiat 128 sedan. Raced from 1972-1976, then parked until 1995. I spent 3 years rebuilding it it's derelict state to full race worthy in 1998. Pretty obscure, not terribly fast, but a ton of fun to race at it's limits Sold it in 2005, wished I had never done that
My Corvettes have been fun, but nothing is like going into a turn at 80 mph with someone on each side of you, 6 inches away.

Always followed the forum when I had my C5, purchased a 2010 Callaway GS 10/16 so decided I would like to participate, so fairly new here. Was a DJ in dental school and went by DrDon. The name still stands with my golf buddies
Been a Corvette fan since the age of 5. (My brother infected me). As a young man didn't have the means (family etc..) for anything other than a few late model C3's so I started buying Junkers and selling parts to fuel the hobby. In the early 2000's I had saved enough to buy a modern Corvette...a 1990. Exhilarating for about a month but it was just "Too Slow...."
Mine is pretty obvious. Aside from buying an awful lot of cars since the late 70s, I taught the How To Buy Corvettes class at Bloomington Gold for many years. Spent a lot of time there and at other events helping people buy cars.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
