So today i got the new rain gutter lip for the rear deck lid bonded in place. When it was hit it tore up that side pretty good. Next is to weld in the steel B pillars once i figure out the correct placement. Then bond on the jamb covers and the rear clip. Ray

Damn, I just picked my jaw up off the floor. You give the meaning of craftsmanship a whole new meaning. Dennis

Today i spent the day shimming and gapping the three chunks to get some kind of base line. I know now that the blue car was narrower at the bottom and wider at the top. I have had to do some creative things.....it looks pretty good except where the deck lid meets the R door. I have the broken blue deck lid and it is 3/16 wider overall then the red one.
You can see where they cut the back B pillars loose and across the floor.
It's all a wobbly mess. The nose is from who knows where? and the red car has had a clip on it before with lots of old screw holes. Tomorrow i will bolt the hood on. The car is on the ground to check the door gaps.

Your silver custom reminds me of the early 50s Testarossas and that era sports cars. Similar lines and the rear deck driver streamlining. Not as radical but similar genes....very cool.

Worked on setting the hood. Went OK. It's all fixable. Inner fender skirts and clip are still loose and can be moved around. Getting closer to bonding.
Going to move over to the 4sale side and see if anybody in Oregon wants to do a c3 trade. At 6' 7" i fit better. Ray

Pulled the steering column out yesterday. Easier than I thought. Today will pull the dash to get the speedo out. Need to take it up your way to a speedo shop I think in Beaverton to get the odometer working.
I didn't like the original seats and replaced them. I got them as low as I could but they are still kind of high. That brought my knees to high so I have now an IDIDIT tilt column to go in after the speedo is fixed.
I'm 5'10" so a roadster helps but with the top up to get in it's butt first. Well same thing in my Classic Mini and the 72 Porsche

When you come my way you are welcome to swing by if it works out, Ray

Sounds good give me some notice
Today i pulled the rear clip away from the b pillars so i can weld them back in place. Mocked them up a dozen+ times. It beat me up bad and i hope they are in the right place. Once the clip rested down i just walked to the door with a beer and shut the lights out. Ray

You sir, are a true artist!
This is something that as time goes on fewer and fewer people can do.
Incredible work, on both the cars. Love the silver one... great lines.
Hope all the 64 fits together well for you.

With the floor and the rear tub bonded together it was time to scuff it down and get it ready to be sealed up. Then i will set the tub back on the frame and prep to put the nose on. Ray
