So i harvested a 74 c3 to build a all aluminum sports car of my design. Ran into a 64 roadster 300hp/4spd FS that was in three chunks and boxes. Wrecked in the 80's and parts gathered for years by the PO and then it came home to my shop. Was going to harvest it for another custom build but was told to leave it alone....................... So starting the process. Don't like playing by the rules, Ray in Oregon
It's a china lift and branded by different names. 7000lb mid rise . No issues. Not good for underbelly center of car work but for body work it is excellent. I think even HF had it mailorder for a while.
OK, I have not had my coffee yet this morning so forgive me if I'm missing the obvious. I follow about the '73 becoming a custom.
But I'm confused on the '64. At first I thought you found the project and bought it. But then you say you were "told to leave it alone". By who? (whom?) It's a customer's car, not yours?
Anyway, glad to see it returning to a healthy condition. Be sure to post pics when it's finished! Hopefully that's not the last '64 vert basket case out there, one of these days I'm hoping for a similar find.

It's mine and was told by corvette guy's not to butch it up for another aluminum car. I was going to keep the running gear and the center tub and part the rest. But i will make it into a one big chunk and maybe pass it on,Ray
So, is the last picture (the silver car) your original design, metal car on the '74 frame? If so, more pictures would be nice...beautiful car
Yes that is my car on the c3 . Made a wood plaster buck and hand pounded out the body on a tree stump...really. One of a kind.
Did not think that this is the place for that car . Just showing that the 64 will not have the same fate. Ray

Oh, I think the boys will appreciate a few more pics of the silver car. We love our Corvettes but we appreciate ALL nicely done cars

Here are a few pics. you can see some c3 stuff under the hood and the windshield is c3 with the kitty ears cut off. I shaved 900lbs off the vette with the alloy body and has a 415hp stroker and a 5 spd tremec in it.
drives nice at 2600 lbs! Thanks for the interest.Ray

Got it! Obviously you are free to do what you want with your own car, but personally I'm glad to see it returned to more or less original.
