Default Pulling Cluster in our 66 - Help Needed

Pulling the cluster out of our 66. Questions;

How to disconnect the wires that run to;

1. the headlight pull ****

2. the ones that run to the headlight flip switch at the bottom of the cluster ?

Wires connected to the headlight pull **** assembly look like they should pull straight up to unplug but don't wanna budge and I don't wanna break anything.

3. how to disconnect the wire attachment at back of the wiper switch ?

Lastly the size of the nut on the oil pressure gauge, 5/16 ? After 51 years it also doesn't wanna budge & I'm afraid of stripping it. May hit it with some pb blaster and get other things disconnected to give more room to access it before trying again.

Thanks guys !

Remove the switches from the cluster and let them hang on the harness.

The original oil pressure line fitting is indeed 5/16" hex (reproductions are 3/8"). To avoid damaging the guts of the gauge, use a wrench to hold the big square portion of the gauge the fitting screws into while loosening the fitting.

There’s a spring loaded button on the headlight switch behind the cluster that you depress and can pull the shaft/handle out and off. Unscrew the retaining nut and let it hang.

Default Progress !

John & Dave, thank you for your replies. I got the headlight pull **** off & switch detached after learning of the spring loaded button.

Looks like there's a clip on the switch that rotates the headlights ? That's next, making progress !
