I'm confused ... are you referring to Bowling Green or St. Louis? The picture of the 63 bodies is in St. Louis which is now Clark Logistics Services I believe.

I'm not sure, but I bet he meant the present day factory, the one in KY.

I thought the St Louis Assy plant was torn down. That’s what GM did to their factories in Detroit and Flint. Tore them down as soon as they were closed. Most were obsolete for Car Assy plants. It was sad to see the jobs and plants disappear.

Yes, the original building (the mill) was completely torn down.

Should have been made into a shrine!! At least a part of it. I worked at the Cadillac Clark Street plant when it closed. I think the body drop was saved for a museum. I went by there a year later and nothing was left of two huge factories except the parking lot. Just a dirt field.

They do that for property tax reasons. The vacant land is assessed at a much lower rate than with the building and it also limits their liability for the idiots that break in, hurt themselves and then want to sue the deep pockets of GM.

These are 63s so I think that was before they added production at AO Smith
