Terrible news to report...
#44
It's very possible. I went to the crash scene, just a few miles away, and there's very little indication of applied brakes. The marks that were there started on the other side of the double yellow line and arched about 30 or 40 yards into a very high curb and then a small 8" tree. Looked more like skidding sideways then locking up your brakes. No brakes seems like a possible medical issue.

Damn, that is terrible news! He has been a very helpful poster on so many threads. I never spoke with him in person but he certainly helped me with his insight many times. RIP Joe!

I'm gonna say this, only because I had a bad front end wreck in my 63 two years ago and was lucky, very lucky, and walked away. The thought occurred to me at the time that if the worst had happened at least I was out in my car, doing what I loved, enjoying my hobby, reminiscing about times gone by and delighting in life.
I'd like to think that 65Tripleblack, Joe, felt the same...
RIP Joe...

So sad. I am sorry for the loss of Joe. Really enjoyed his posts. He was very passionate about our love affair for these Vettes. May he rest in peace. Prayers for him and his family.

Haven't been on this forum long, but Joe was probably one of the five or so posters that I noticed that was extremely knowledgeable on just about anything for these cars.
What a loss to his family and corvette community...RIP Joe

Very, very sorry to report that Joe Ciaravino, aka 65Tripleblack, an avid contributor to this forum, died in a car crash in his '65 Corvette on Saturday evening at the shore area in Central NJ. Joe lives in the same town and helped me out on a number of occasions with my own '65. He died just a few miles from my house and it's really devastating. There's not much in the report which was posted on the NJ Asbury Park Press, but it says he lost control and crashed into a tree.

For those that knew him or was helped by him over the years, I'm sure you too will feel a sense of loss. Stay safe out there.
