Default TI Ignition Harness Question 2 Pink Wires

I'm in the process of converting my standard ignition harness (new Lectric Limited to accept the TI harness connections (new Lectric Limited). I have attached a photo of the instructions and there is one step which is a little confusing to me. This procedure is described in step 8, 9 and 10 of the instruction sheet. I'd call Lectric Limited but they do not have telephone support that I can find.
the 2 pink wires coming out of the engine harness ate connected together with a side fork terminal and would have been connected to the downstream side of the ballast resistor on a standard ignition can. The instructions say cut off the side fork terminal to the pink wires and locate the one which goes to the starter solenoid. This is easily done with a multimeter. the other end of the non solenoid wire is to the taped off. The instructions also say TAPE OFF THE OPPOSITE END OF THIS NON SOLENOID WIRE. Well, it runs back toward the firewall inside the wiring harness and ends I KNOW NOT WHERE?

Since I have already taped off the non solenoid wire, where and why do I need to tape off it's other end? Looking at all of this has made me crosseyed!

Thanks in advance for answers.

Hmmm seems odd, here is a my quick response until someone more knowledgeable chimes in.

Pink wire from coil positive to starter solenoid provides 12 volt power to coil during engine cranking.

pink wire from under dash I believe goes first to a ballast resistor on non TI vehicles before attaching to the coil positive.

on my 65 TI car both pink wires connect to and are used in conjunction with the factory TI harness. The harness uses a resistance wire in lieu of a ballast reaistor.

I got a little confused by the harness modifications myself and Rich5962's photos and help in post #15 & #18 of this thread helped me get over the hurdle. See if it helps any.

I finally got it...I was confusing myself...there were 2 ends on the pink wire which is not used so the instructions were straight forward.

Thanks to all for the help
