No date on the top to see. Different part# though. This is a '68 or '69 as it has a heater hose coming out of the top front passenger side. The '68-'69 intakes have a lower profile.

Incredible. That's awesome.
Now, i like spending other people's money so this is what you need to do.
1) Re-install the original motor into the Vette.
2) Purchase ANOTHER vette of your choosing to install that tri power motor into.
3) Drive both of them regularly, safely and enjoy them. God Bless.

Thanks for telling me that. So 68-69 intakes are lower profile. Nice to learn something new! The gent that owned the car for 55 years must have been pretty cool not to have cut the car up. It's sooo stock and unassuming. I also love the real ET alloy mags. He paid $50.00 each in 1965. I have the paperwork from Bill Thomas and ET mag company. Lots of drag strip time sheets. About 30 or more trophies that his wife is keeping. Oh well. I did ask if I could have a couple to put on the shelf.

Smart move and have fun with it!! I like the idea of displaying the original engine alongside the car. That's what I plan to do with my original L72 and trans that are out of my '66 too!

Your head is in the right place. For most of its life, your car has been a big block modified car. Very tastefully modified, IMO. Very, very low key. I would do the same thing you are planning: enjoy the car in its present and historically preserved state, and display the stock stuff on the side. You have an authentic piece of history from our first musclecar era, in exceptionally good condition....a real rarity. If I had your car, I wouldn't change a single thing. Love it.
