Default Tom DeWitt Retires

First let me thank all of those loyal customers that supported me and my company for so many years! Time flies and after 25 years of radiators and another 20 years of hydraulic engineering I decided to call it quits. I sold DeWitts Radiator to Afco Performance Group in 2015 and stayed on for an additional five years. The company is in good hands, same people and location. I will continue to watch for radiator related threads and comment when I think it will help but I am just a regular member like you now. Official sales support should be directed to DeWitts. 517-548-0600.

Tom, congratulations on your retirement and finally making it to the end of the tunnel... I've always enjoyed our conversations at Carlisle in the past, although I think I've missed you the last couple of years. I know I've never walked away without thinking, "wow, I didn't know that", or "that information will definitely come in handy." Thank you for taking the time to do that. One of my favorite things about Carlisle is the opportunity to meet folks like yourself personally and pick the brain of so many experts in their field.

Thank you also for everything you've done for the Corvette hobby over the years and especially for producing some of the finest products we can buy for our classics. It's folks like you that have made the Corvette hobby so enjoyable for me and so many others over the years.

Good luck... GUSTO

I have two of your radiators installed in 1967 small and big block Corvettes. As hard as I try, I can't get a reading beyond 160.
Thank you for producing such fine parts!

Congrats Tom, on a well deserved retirement. You made a quality product for many Corvettes for many years and we appreciate it!
Anything special you’ve been wanting to do?

Steve, not a problem, just slap some cardboard in front of half the radiator and you should be able to get the temp up to 180° for sure.

Seriously though... I can recall driving my V8 Falcon, towing a trailer and motorcycle South I-95, in January of '78 to eastern NC in below freezing temps. My hands were freezing (with gloves on), my feet were cold and I could get no heat out of the Falcon. At the first stop for gas, I got a piece of cardboard and cut it to cover half the radiator and made the rest of the trip in warmth!

Tom, Your product had a hand in making my retirement more enjoyable by me finally being able to drive my car in any situation, and in total confidence at a constant 165 deg. So now, I hope you get to enjoy your own well deserved retirement.
Congratulations!
Luke

It's the rare company that every informed car nut agrees is The Best, and that sure applies to your company. Thanks for all that fine effort for all those years!

Congratulations Tom. I bought one of your first Corvette radiators about 25 years ago and it’s still going strong! Enjoy your retirement!
