Sad news. Everything I bought there was quality parts. Other companies not so much.
Actually it’s good news. ZIP has always had the best inventory and shipping cost. Plus they are in my back yard. LIC web search was too confusing although IF you found the item, good information was there.. Only one other vendor was worse.
LICS has been one of the GREAT vendors to deal with for many decades. A vital partner in keeping my C2 restoration and repair projects moving forward with their next day shipping over the years. A big thanks to them for all they have done to support and advance our hobby for so long. I will miss them.
That being said, Zip is an excellent company to deal with, and if it had to be, I'm glad they are the ones who have the inventory and will keep it going. I've spoken with them many times in the past at Carlisle and they are good people. Best of luck to them !

So sad to see it go.. Bought many parts from rich..
Was the only midyear guy in town. Bought parts from him in the 70’s
when he worked out of his house ..
No experience with LICS but have ordered quite a few items from Zip. I received everything in two or three days and all was as promised. Never had a problem or issue.

I've ordered from both, never any problems. If the folks at LICS were ready to retire, as I'd guess was the case, I'm encouraged to hear that their inventory and tooling have been acquired by the good folks at Zip. Something that could have ended poorly for C2 owners has in all likelihood gone in a very good direction instead.
As far as I know, LIC’s founder’s name was Richard Cohen. I gather that he built this company for C2 enthusiasts like himself. Cohen passed away in 2017.
Part of the company passed with him. Many parts that he had manufactured were no longer offered after their inventory was depleted, like correct replica jacks, rag joints and many other correct parts he had manufactured for exclusive sale by LIC. Anyone who orders from LIC can see the desirable parts that are no longer for sale.
Never any cups, air fresheners, or tee shirts with Corvette logos at LIC, just correct parts.
Cohen owned a small fleet [5] of C2 tankers that were auctioned off at Mecum after his death.
Sometimes when the heart of a company passes the company coasts to a slow decline, as this one did.
And IMHO, not too many companies have much of a heart to start out with, it’s all about $$. LIC had a heart.
I ordered something from ZIP at 9:30 this morning. It's already in route.
I never dealt with LIC, I have heard much praise about the quality of their parts. But was it LIC who we had a lengthy discussion of poor customer service and extremely rude phone calls? I recall the thread but not the company, if it was NOT LIC my apologies to them. If it WAS them, it would seem this could be a positive thing for their customers.

I remember those tankers going through the auction. IIRC he owned of each model year of the C2, including 1 of only 2 made for 1967.

LIC was all business. you didn't ask questions. its either you wanted a part or you didn't. Dad and I ordered thousands of dollars with them. mainly because it was a mid year only parts store. and parts only nothing else. if we ordered before noon it was shipped the same day, and we had it in two days. I for one is really going to miss them. there web site and Catalog was very basic and to the point.

I ordered through LIC for years, in my opinion they were the best, now having said that there were times the bedside manner of the person taking your order could have you wondering why you called in the first place, usually if you didn’t have the page # and part # at hand, I will miss them, I hope ZIP can continue to provide their parts and outstanding delivery times.

So I guess that means I AM thinking of the right vendor discussed in that thread. Part of being in business is answering customer's questions. It's been that way for centuries. Companies with rude customer service often do not remain in business.

See my post above - I ordered a part for the C-4 at 0930 today, it's shipped and will be here Saturday, which is 2 days. Sounds like you might be happy with ZIP after all.
LIC was my go to also. Never called them so I guess I was insulated a bit. Now Doc Rebuild I did call once and vowed never again but I kept ordering online from him for rubber parts. Ordered on line from Zip once and all was fine. So I don't see a problem so far. Not trashing my LIC catalog though as it's a great reference too. Good luck Zip!

they where for 33 years when the founder ran the show. when he died and his kids took over and sold all the cars he collected the writing was on the wall that they wanted no part in their fathers dream. I'll say it again LIC was great as they only cared about and sold parts for one car. and that was 63-67 parts. no tshirts no jackets, no gimmicks to suck you in. they just sold parts.
