On these Delco units, I guess we can call it remote sense. So these alternators have limits that turn on or turn off, based on second wire input to the alternator. This keeps the charge in the pocket, to maintain the battery charge. These units have IMS which kind of ensures maximum battery charge to be available.

Ok so let's remove the battery and run the Load (end use components from the alternator!!!!! Are you kidding me. Bad comeback! Ya, Load they draw current and voltage from battery.

All of the semantics aren't answering the OPs question.

I am just playing with your worded explanation, as you know what is all happening, it's just I am calling you out on just the cart before the horse word explanation! Some of the smartest engineers suck at writing the tech manuals.

Load is current/voltage level needed for component operation and the overall accumulative of all components.

The OP's question was correctly and succinctly answered in posting #2.

I can't help anyone who doesn't have the necessary technical background to understand the answer.

Exactly, but his question then begs the question, why? Assuming additional electrical loads (amps/speakers, AC, electric fan, seat heaters, etc), I would not depend on the oem wiring and there are several simple solutions depending on what is being added.
