63 Corvette Conv Front Bow tack strip
The front bow has a strip that the soft top staples into and it has fully deteriorated. The top itself is in good shape. It looks to be a fiber type of material and the top staples into it. The strip looks to held in placeby by metal tabs that are bent over. Has anyone ever replaced this successfully and restapled the top into it? I have been trying to find a listing for the part and only see a tack strip kit. Any instructions, suggestions. pointers or diagrams would be appreciated.

Any local auto upholstery shop should have it.

Al Knock has it if you can’t find locally. My upholstery guy stapled the new top to it but I changed it so it was ready for him. It’s easy. Not sure if you can re staple your old top to it.

Suspect you'll not be thrilled with results of just replacing header tack strips + re-stapling existing fabric - only at that location. If the header tack is bad, likely the pads, felt & other tack is as well. It is the pads -- not the top fabric -- that staple to the topside L&R header tack strips. See photos, below. Anyway ...
The OEM tack material is a fiberboard composite of sorts. It can be bent & fitted to the contours of both the top & bottom sides of the header. Modest amount "3M Black Weatherstrip & Gasket Adhesive" will bond the tack to clean & prepped header (use clamps while curing). The metal tabs often rust & they fatigue readily; some may not make it through an open & reclose cycle to fit new tack strips. Plastic/nylon-like tack materials are also available. Here's some pics of the area in question from your post, using OEM style fiberboard tack. Convertible top specialty shops would likely have both kinds of material.
