I need a Distributor for a 63 Corvette 340 hp engine.
As the block and heads and intake are correct for 63, I would like the Distributor to also be correct.
Is there any above or below the manifold differences between a 63 Distributor Housing and the other C2 or early C3 years?
Thanks

Reason: Improved the question
In addition to elements in above posts , it is key to make sure the slot in pole piece that limits mechanical advance is correct.
the underside should be marked with ‘CCW’ and a 3 digit number indicating advance. For my L79 it’s CCW 530 for 30* of mech advance.
for the ‘63 L76 340; mech advance was 24* so the pole piece would be marked something like CCW 524. These are all Internal Differences so I’m not sure how much it would matter to you.
The 1963 distributor football on top of the main shaft should be stamped 54 and the rotating weight base cam is stamped CCW 724, weights are stamped 37. The vacuum advance control is stamped 201-15.
62' 340 hp had the dual point version, That tach is one of the most desired
BUUUUUUUUUT, it does not have a vacuum advance, which in my book, makes a car more practical for town and city cruising.
If some just gots to have a 985 distributor, I gots one.

Tbarb, you wouldn’t happen to have this information on both 64 distributions would ya?
I don't have the exact specs for the 1964 distributors but I will look and see what I can find. If you belong to the NCRS and do a search on their discussion board the info may be there. I know the shp engines used a more suited (faster) curve.
