The Next CCC Projects...

First, we have Fransteve's complete front end rebuild. We're going to take Steve's '64 Coupe, tear the whole front suspension/steering system off the car, replace all the bushings, joints, linkage parts, and slap it all back together with all new parts. This using common hand tools in my garage with no assistance or help from some lousy 2-bit machine shop with a no-good hydraulic press. And we're going to do it in less than a day while consuming HUGE amounts of beer. "Blkblt" is going to be our our official CorvetteForum photographer, and we'll show you the step-by-step process right here on the Forum. If the pics come out good, we'll make a tech paper out of it.
Our next (or maybe the first...) project is to do a custom crate-motor conversion on a C2 to upgrade it to a killer 406. C-2 Forum member John Gilbert is going to let us yank his stock engine out, and swap in a built big-inch small block that we're going to disguise as a stock engine.... Gawd!!! Is this gonna' be fun, or what?? We're going to spend a day prepping and setting up the new engine on the engine stand, and then we'll do the whole conversion with the clutch work and everything in a single day the following day (if we're not too stinkin' hung over from the first day...). Again, complete photo coverage will be provided by "blkblt" that will rival CIA photo coverage of the Iraq crisis.
Stay tuned for some great stuff coming from the drinking pro's in Colorado...!!!

Of course we here in the Not so North Country are still under winters grip and the beer is still frozed in the garage.
We will look forward to the photo shoot and of course the end result. It does sound like you have alot on your plate for one week end. Just make sure you don' mix the front end parts with the clutch assembly and visa versa.
Make sure also that you don't install the front springs upside down. I would sugguest doing those first before belting brewskies. Also your camera man should not be belting and beers as this could add to out of focus piccy's.
The "NJCC" will probably come up with a summer project at Kid's OC Mansion this summer. One of the projects under review will be the installation
of the new Cadillac "V16" 1000 HP" motor in John Lollie's 66BB. We hope to be able to finish this project in 14 hours of non stop work drinking nothing but Black Coffee and "Jolt Cola" followed by "Beer" during the tuning session.
We will of course have our camerman take all photos of the before and after.
So keep us posted on our project and we will be looking forward to seeing your pic's......

What.. are you some kind of wussie...??? It's below zero out here right now, and we're gonna put our frozen beers on a Coleman stove to thaw them out so we can drink our beers while doing suspension rebuilds and engine swaps with our knitted mittens on (these are mittens knitted by our grandmothers in Minnesota). Stay tuned for the pics...!!
Line those parts up boys, lets get to it. :yesnod: :yesnod:
Lately it has been the ccc the ultimate fine dining and entertainment fraternity. :U :U :U

Yep....I hate the freaken cold. I'd rather sweat then frezz...Nothing like busting your knuckels on a big fat coil spring that comes flying out and wacks you in the pee pee. Or the slip of a open end wrench that drives your hand into the fan blades :cry. And the cold just makes it worse!!!!! :nonod: .
No my beer overloaded friend... I'll just sit in my nice warm living room with my over sized 5.1 sound system and belt brewskies and watch some life size porno and car race DVD's on my Oversized Projection Letter box TV Monitor.
I'm waiting till march for the T-Arm and Diff rip out party at my place with the "NJCC"....
Stock looking 406 SB

Looking forward to the show..
When does the  start?????
Maybe I'll drive up..
I think my car already knows the way

I have a brand new DeWitts radiator in the garage awaiting some black paint before I can install it in my coupe, but the weather has postponed that project (well, I ~could~ paint it in the basement but I am also in the middle of finishing it [will have a plethora of entertainment down there when I am done]... ). So I keep waiting for some halfway decent temps but they seem to usually only occur around noon on Wednesdays this time of year (with the coldest temps, of course, saved for the weekends). So I too will look forward to the pics of this upcoming CCC marathon-o-work...

And there are others that you forgot. Kurts (Milehigh66) paint job and Jeffs (Blkblt) chambered exhaust.

I’ve never even seen a front end rebuild, and after watching the CCC operate, I’m not sure I’ll witness a real rebuild. Lars always wanting to use old Revell model assembly instructions scares me.
Lars, I’ll bring along my sledge hammer, pitch fork and gorilla bar just in case your hand tools aren’t up to it.
Steve, don’t worry about the brakes, there isn’t a hill within a mile or two of Lars’s house.
We just might want to let the snow melt before we fire up John’s new 406. I’m saying this now because in the heat of the moment & the inevitable beers consumed, we just might assume some one painted the streets white.

Three cheers for Lars and the CCC crew!! :hurray:
I am definitely interested in pics and specs on the 406 build and install. Been toyin' with going in that direction (moth balling the original) and have at a "torque monster". Outstanding and timely project.
Looking forward to this one!!!!
Jim
...anyway, i am doing the same front suspension rebuild on my roadster and maybe you can give me a hint about how to remove those freakin' a-arm bushings - i got 3 sets out with an air hammer/pickle fork combo but THAT last set? :cuss :cuss :cuss :cuss
