nope comes out the front. remove the glove box assembly. then you can get to the two clips, light bulb, and wire harness plug. remove those four things and it will come out with ease

The quartz conversion is worth it. And you can do it in your living room on a T.V. tray.

i notice a lot of the aftermarket clocks have no second hand. mine does. does the conversion kit include it ? i'll have to check the judging manual to see if they came that way

My original 67, same as a 66, should have a second hand. The quartz conversion kits utilize this as well. Be aware that the hand’s movements are different between original and modern quartz and is very easily detected in NCRS judging if you are wanting to go that route.

You might want to give it a try yourself, there is a set of points inside that get a little corroded, often times you can clean up the contacts and it's good to go. Also make sure there is no dirt and dust on the wheels and cogs, add some very light oil. It's worth a try, if you don't get it going, you can then send it out.
Personally I like the original movement, with the "ticking' second hand, I understand the quarts replacement movements only sweep.
Good Luck

Default Clock removal access via radio access side panels

You can also get to the back clips for clock removal by just removing the lower radio access side panels (without needing to remove the glove box). Glove box removal works well, too, though this is the alternative that I did for removing and replacing my clock.

At one time, there was a quartz conversion that "ticked" like a wind up clock...did not "sweep" like most quartz conversions. Haven't seen one available for several years.
