I've bought several corvettes from Mershons. When I bought my 65 coupe from them they told me they had just taken the car in and didn't know what condition it was in.They told me if I bought it I could take it home and bring it back in a week and they would fix anything that was wrong. That is exactly what I did and they fixed a long list of things including the steering box, throwout bearing, heater core, door locks, sticking brake calipers, rear main seal leak, trans leak, carb rebuild and put on new radials. They also said to bring the car back the next spring and they would recharge the A/C and convert it to R134. They did all this at NO charge to me and I did not overpay for the car. They have always been very straight with me and I would not hesitate to buy a car from them in the future.

I totally agree. You bought a used car, after you inspected it and agreed on a (wholesale) price. Don't expect the used car dealer to make good on your mistakes.

[P.S.] Learn the correct usage of homophones; you're writing like a 10-year-old.

Actually I am kind of impressed with Mershon's for actually stepping up to the plate and responding to this. Many companies would just ignore the entire thing.

I had an issue with corvette central and after many attempts to speak with the owner Jerry or his wife (who also works in the company) I was told he is to busy to talk to customers, he has more important things he needs to be doing.

Default well sorta

Well I sorta agree.. I don't think we have the whole story from either side.. If Mershons said the paint was new, as in THEY had it painted, then he does have an issue with Mershons and they should resolve it. (and get another painter... ) If Mershons said , they got the car and it was just repainted (ie: from the PREVIOUS owner), then they have no responsibilities as far as I'm concerned... In any case it's a sad day for the car...

I think we all get the point, no sense in kicking somebody when they are down.

I am sorry about your trouble mots, I am sure once you have the car repainted and up to your standards, the first time someone stops in their tracks to admire will make all your heartache worthwhile.

Thank you. I am having it painted as I speak. The mechanical work has been done by an excellant mechanic who specializes in vintage corvettes has been completed. It is a good driver now. I learned a good lesson and appreciate all the input.

Life does deal us some hard lessons at times.

When you get the car done, you will enjoy it all the more. To me, the only way to enjoy it more is to do all of the work myself, sort of a hobby/therapy to prevent going postal.

For the record, the spare tire, jack and handle arrived within a week of the car arrival.

MOTS, what did you find when you stripped the bubbling paint? Any paint lessons we can learn?
