It is not a show car or anything but you cant BUY a parts car for that! What gives?

Glad your auction is already at $6600 and more than a day to go....

I had my 76 for sale for like 3 months before I sold it, only got $8,500 and that was with a year old paintjob and a super clean engine
here
I loved the car, but couldn't keep it and the '69.

I had people asking me if it was the original engine.
I don't understand the fascination with that.
I can understand if it is a rare option, or a hi perf one, but to me original engine in a '76 means:

"This car had a max of 210 horsepower when it was new, and since it is almost 3 decades old, it now has significantly less"

Unless of course, someone went to the trouble to restore it to it's 210 horsepower glory.

A friend of mine bought a 1970 Monte Carlo with the "original, numbers matching" engine. It was a nice looking car, body was clean, original (of course) paint was in decent shape and the interior was reasonable, but the engine was too old!
He paid $6500 for it.
I tried to tell him that it was just a 350 (the 250 horse I think) and not all that rare or desireable. He bought it anyways. After he got it, I tried to convince him to have a little fun with it, soup up the engine a little. Nope, don't want to take a chance on ruining it. Now this engine was by no means clean, it looked 30 some years old. Totally covered in grease, the water pump, distributor and carb had been replaced at some point in the distant past. Possibly putting out 150 horsepower, it would hardly get out of its own way. He got divorced and had to sell it and was convinced he would get at least $8000 for it.
Ended up selling it for $4,200.

I'm not even keeping my '69 stock, it's just an L-46 and I want to take advantage of some of the new technology in the last 36 years.

Sorry, had to get that off of my chest and my wife doesn't want to hear it!

What I find rather interesting is the guy that has most of the bids keeps rasing his bid to be "top of the list" Doesn't he understand that he is just running the price up on himself IF he does end up with the car?

Like I always say, It's not who is the top bidder 3 days before the auction ens, but rather who is top bidder at the last second.

Congratulations to the seller if the top bidder goes through with the deal.

All I got from ebay was well we tryed he wont pay. Well thats just great they let me relist it but that seems to have scared all the other bidders away lost all the way around good luck KARA

Default Nice price.

Well it looks like u got a fair price Kara. I hope this sale works out as i was really tempted by that $3500 offer. Just too far away, not enough vacation time left, and still trying to get my '74 on the road. cardo0

The '74 - '79 aren't as appealing to many people as '68 - '72 and '80 to '80... I personally don't like the round rear bumper and the little front rubber bumper too much .. However, that's not really too difficult to change if you don't like them... The early and late C3's just look more aggressive than the mid to late 70's Vettes...

Right...I think I'll put a ridiculous glassed-in aerofoil wing and a rusted roll-bar on mine to make it look "agressive"...
