Default I Dont Get It

I sold my 1980 off of ebay and got 6K immediately for that car. Here I put my stingray on, which is a much much nicer and original car, and ZIP. I have it at 3500 with no reserve! I dont get it. It runs great, just needs a rear end. Is it not worth 3500? The car is a matching number car!
It is not a show car or anything but you cant BUY a parts car for that! What gives?

Speak for yourself, they are one of my favorite as well. If the rear was fine, it should easily get $7k and up.

Damn, if you were closer to California, I would buy that car in a heartbeat. But I am sure that shiping charges to trailer that car would blow me away.......

Your listing descriibes many of the negative issues associated
with your Vette, but does not describe many of the positive
points/areas (your car must have many strengths....point them
out). You also explain that two buyers have backed out, some
bidders may think there is an underlying problem with the car
that has prompted the bidders to back out I wonder about
the listing for the other vehicle that you sold (was it more positive).

Your expectation for what the car should be worth is reasonable....still 6 days left.

Expect it to go higher as the bidding goes on. You say your 80 went straight to 6000 - that bidder must have been an idiot (why would you bid right off when you're just jacking the price up on yourself). I always snipe (bid at the last second).. this is a very common practice. Expect several snipe bidders.

- Michael

Chill out though.. many people see this car - and an advantage of e-bay is that it will get at least market price!

That's the sad truth.

For some reason... right now 1974 to 1977 don't seem to be doing all that well. I don't know why either I had a 1975 and thought it was great

I recently got $3600 on Ebay for a 75 that needed EVERYTHING.
Be patient. It'll get up there.

I'd fix the rear end and sell a driveable car, but that's only me...

If somebody snipes it for $3650 it will be a great deal for him/her and a very bad deal for you.... it appears to be in good shape and in driveable condition you should get 5-6K for it, maybe more....

just my 2c....

I was very positive the first go around. A cop bought it came to look and was a JERK. Sorry if I sounded negative, I just dont want to build the car up too much. I mean I am trying to be honest about it. Honestly it is one of the cleanest corvettes I have seen around here, especially being ALL original. I dont know It runs great. Honestly I have called and where I live in Wichita Falls no one touches corvette rear ends or I would have fixed it. I would have to trailer it and drive two hours or more. Not worth all that. I will just sell it cheap and let someone fix it themselves or have it fixed. My town sux lol

Have you thought about a used differential ? Maybe in the 'for sale' section ?
what exactly is wrong with the rear ??

If it's driveable it sells a lot better

I hear ya. I would rather pay less then 10K for a nice 74-76 then 20K + for the chrome bumper big block. But that is just me. I love all vettes
