Default Headers for my '75

While going over my car with a mechanic, he found that my manifold looked like it was in pretty bad shape. I am replacing the exhaust system with 3" Patriot Sidepipes, and I figured it might be easier to go ahead and get some headers to put on the car while this is getting done. Cheaper to do it all at once then one at a time at a later date.

I am trying to find something not too crazy expensive, I don't need $1000 headers for my car. I ran across another member's thread and he had these on his '74.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can get that will fit my '75 and my Patriot Exhaust? Links to anything you recommend from places like Summit?

Thanks for the help.

I thought about these, then a 3" pipe going out to the fender.... not sure what I'm going to do (Hookers or not)... the black Hookers are only a little more than these....

The headers most frequently discussed around the forum seem to be Dynomax Ceramic Coated. Go to summitracing.com and check out part # WLK-86008.

Thanks, those were the ones I was originally looking for, I will pick them up with the A/C bracket.

Appreciate it.

wouldn't you need a 180 degree section to go back and out towards the fender ?

From what I've read around here for sidepipes you will definitely need an adapter, a 180 is probably the ticket. No personal experience but it's probably the same unless you're buying a sidepipe kit complete with headers.. if that even exists. (?)

Hmm..

I would need the additional bracket for the A/C, which he sells, but what where can I buy the 180 adapter?

The 180 'adapter' comes with the JCW installation kit - IMO it's pretty ugly and not very good for the flow, first 180 and the another 90 to go to the fender and another 90 to go back.....

here's my thoughts: Option A: $220 for the sidepipes, $50 for the installation kit, $300 for headers... you're looking at almost $600....

Option B: cut the exhaust under the original header flange and fab a 2.5" pipe to connect to the Patriot sidepipes.... roughly $300 - $350

Option C: Black Hookers, $700 and be done with it......

... or get these side exhaust headers and fab something to connect to the Patriots.... may be even more $$ than the hookers...
