Charlie, back in 1974 when I was looking for my first vette, I used to make the rounds of all the used car lots in St. Louis that carried vettes. One of them was Continental Cars on Lindberg. He was always good for 5 to 7 used vettes sitting out front. I walked up and a group was looking an Orange '71 bigblock LS-6 (heck it may have been the same one). The salesman had it idling but it was evident it had been rode hard and put away wet, she was a smoking a bit. I knew I was looking at something special, I just didn't know how rare it was. Besides my insurance agent would only go for a base smallblock. Wished I had got it though.
