Hey DEP....solid axle C-3's....

Anyway, they were having an NHRA Division 3 championship race in Bowling Green. There were quite a few C-3's out there in the Stock and Super Stocker ranks.
You need to find one of these races to attend. We crawled under several cars and they all have converted them to regular 12 bolts it seems. No tubs....just regular stuff.
Most still use transverse spring but handle it various ways. They all use short little "trailing arms"/links to locate rear out of stock mount area. They usually have a panhard bar to keep it centered side to side.
The stock crossmember in front of diff. stays in place, but they have cut out a section for driveshaft to "travel" in up and down and welded in a half moon shaped section of flat steel to allow travel and to hook crossmember together again.
Overall pretty clean looking and not that tricky looking. I didn't have camera with me, but another guy did. I'll try to get pictures for you.
Most of them are allowing the rear snubbers to still be used and have them set to go solid on launch. But with the short little trailing arms and most of them are designed so that pinion angle can be set to tune bite, they seem to have "body rise" in the rear on launch instead of typical Vette squat. Much lke typical Mopar stuff. Lot of big wheelies from these guys!
Anyway, take a trip to the track. In fact if you ask around, you will find many of these guys have stuff for sale and know where other stuff is. You may find a complete bolt in assy is for sale when someone decided to move up and tub car.
