Default Battery question for '73

Which way do the side terminals face, front or rear?

Do any of you guys use the vented battery type that was original (I think)with this car? If so, what kind or # is it?

Thanks in advance, David

Mine face front, but considering my car's history, I'd hesitate to say that this is the way God & Zora intended it to be.

To the front. I have an Interstate battery and don't know what came in the 73 stock.

it will work either way but the factory way was terminals to gas tank.

I replaced the battery in my 73 last week. The battery tray has a hold down bolt and bracket at the rear of the compartment. I put my battery in with the terminals at the rear, pointing towards the back of the car. I cant say thats correct, but with the side mounted terminals it is what is needed in case I have to jump start it.

The side terminals face rearward and the vent hoses run forward. I just replaced mine with a restoration type original battery (R-89st) and original caps and vent hoses.
