I am moving and the Vette is moving too. It has got its own 20' container. Does anyone can tell me what the best anchoring points are? The idea is to strap the car in the rear and in the front, on both sides to hold it firmly against the floor of the container with no chance to move in any directions. I was told containers some time are dropped from a few feet high during transfer or unloading. The car has better to be tightly secured.
There should be slots in the frame rails - just in front of the
rear wheels and just behind the front wheels that would be
perfect to tie her down. Mkae sure they are down tight, or
a suspension jounce could let her get unhooked.
Alternatively, you could tie down around the rear trailing arms
and the front lower control arms. This way, the suspension is compressed less.

I don't believe I would be using a transporter box that is going to drop my car from a few feet off the ground. That just doesn't sound like anything good can come out of it.

I don't have much choice: I am moving overseas. Everything goes in containers. My furniture and stuff in a 40' can and the vette in a 20' can, by itself. The guys who operates the cranes at the ports do not care about the content of the containers they load or offload. It just happens that sometime those cans are shaked more than they should.
At this point, my mover doesn't even know on what ship it will be loaded.

Where are you headed? There are a lot of Vettes which have made the trip downunder. I personally had my 68 Bonneville coupe shipped from LA to Melbourne in a 40footer with a Healey above it. Damn healey dropped it's exhaust onto my bonnet and the guy who did the packing said tough Doo Doo. Check your shipping insurance small print. You want to be able to claim small items as well as total loss.
Most container packers let the air out of the tires as well because if the tires go down mid trip the car can move around.
Good Luck!

I paid a total fee to the guy who packed and shipped it and that was supposed to include insurance. It was back in '91 so memory is not too clear.
