Default Alarm problems...

The stock alarm on my '73 is sounding whenever the system is armed. I am pretty sure the posts in the doors and hood are not shorting. Is there anything else it could be, any checks?
Thanks,
Scott

The alarm switches are mounted in the rear post and can be accessed by removing the cover found inside the rear wheel well. Try pushing in on the switches with the doors open to see if they might need to be readjusted. It may be that the doors aren't pushing them in far enough to break the circut. Same goes for the hood switch. When the doors or the hood are openned it creates a ground to activate the alarm relay.
Good luck.

I read somewhere that the tampering switch behing the key cylinder causes this problem, is there any way to bypass this to check?

There is no tampering switch on the 73's. when I get home I'll email you my spreadsheet for troubleshooting and schematic.
