Was wondering what everyone gets for MPG with there cars. Last weekend I drove to Carlisle. A 3 hr trip. I got 18mpg highway. Thought it could have been better. Car is a 78 all stock includeing the original cat. I plan on installing a true duel set up with 2.25 pipes and mabey a fuelinjection set up.
Thanks Mike S
My 75 usually gets 15-16 on the highway, give or take. Of course the carb is all messed up right now and needs a rebuild. However in a few weeks Lars should resolve that during the NJ leg of the Tuning For Beer Tour.

18 - 19mpg Highway - but that was without the kickdown working...I since have fixed the problem.....so I dont think I will get that mileage again!!
I running 456 gears, and a shift kit, gas mileage is great in the driveway But once I'm one the highway 10 tops, those 456's are garage wall decorations, this winter going to maybe 355's or all the way back to the 308's.
Hmm. Well, I was averaging about 10-12 mpg with the old LS-5, 3.70 gears, 4-spd, and 750 Q-jet. On the highway it would get almost 15 mpg. Now, that the car has a 496 Stroker, 3.70 gears, Tremec 5-spd, and 850 DP Demon, I have been getting about 6 mpg. Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that I can't seem to keep my foot out of it lately.....
It sucks about the rising gas prices....but thats not stopping me from enjoying my vette....The feeling of being in my vette cruising and having a good time......its priceless! (or $1.35 a litre!!) - but thats in AU$ and for premium unleaded.
