Anyone care to opine on the apx. value of these six pack carbs I came by? Ends with pods are list 4175 with date code 2799, which I think are '70 model 440's from a Ca., std. or auto. The center is list 4791, dated 0640, which I believe is from a 340 std. car? Thanks in advance, G.

Id love to have a 68 or 69 road runner 383 4 speed with no options except power brakes. I think that would be one killer ride!

Back in 68 & 69 when I had my 67 427 vert, I used to cut my teeth on Roadrunners, Chargers and GTX's Really did wonders for the old ego.........then one day I ran across a Hemi Cuda

Default like 'em too

First car I bought was a 68 383 Roadrunner. Got a few speeding tickets in that thing as well.

Was working at a restaurant, the manager just got back from Veit Nam, fall 1971 and bought a used 69 R/T Hemi Charger . Even with the automatic, a 727, when he took a bunch of us on a beer run, I still remember the sensation of getting pressed into the back seat when he jumped onto the freeway.

I only owned two mopars in my life, one was a Plum Crazy '70 Challenger RT/SE 440 auto, and the other a dark green '70 Charger RT/SE 440 auto. The stylist at Chrysler finally got it RIGHT with the '70, '71 'Cudas and Challengers, especially in those OUTRAGEOUS colors! Lemon twist, Curious yellow, Limelight, yeah!!!!!!!!!

I still have a nice '70 340 lime green Challenger stashed in a barn with several of my other high school battle-axes. I have limited funds and limited space because of my 'vette. In one way, they are "money in the bank", unless the barn falls down on them.

i owned a 70 340 cuda and sold it buy a 96 corvette. the cuda was faster than the corvette by a long shot, at least off the line.

i have alway admired mopar styling. the corvette is unique, but look at mopar, the cuda, the charger, the challenger. the road runner and superbird, not to mention the super bee. the corvette may have been the king of cars during the 60's and 70's, but for the average owner the mopars offered alot of styling and performance for the buck.

i also own a 2006 dodge charger hemi; say what you will. it is a good match for the 96 vette, two extra doors included.

i will never let my 73 vette go, but i do admire the performance and unique styling of those mopars. early fastback mustangs are cool, but ever notice how they look a lot alike to the '64 plymouth barracuda fastbacks???? read the richard petty reviews in 1965; this was NO accident. the 273 cid solid lift engine was a screamer

I'm a newcomer to Corvettes. Was big into Mopars. Had a 68 GTX after High School that was my daily driver for many years. Wanted something different than all my friends Chevys and Fords. Later on I picked up a couple of Road Runners and a Satellite. One was a 69 1/2 6-pak (but no motor).

Cars ended up on the back burner, marriage, kids and such. Got a new Taurus SHO in 91 that kept me happy.

Then around 2000 I found out an acquaintance was into Corvettes big-time. Watched him sell his real sweet 63 FI roadster that he had taken off the street after one year to road race. When he told me the price I kicked myself and realized that while most Chevys didn't really do much for me, a Corvette was different.

He told me he also had a 69 that had been sitting for about 20 years. Needed lots of work but it was really complete.

So now I was getting excited about cars again. Sold the 6-pak body to a guy that had been hounding me for it and bought the Vette. Got it running a few months later. Lots of work to do but I try not to get into projects that will take it off the road for too long. Having too much fun driving it. The lesson I learned with the Mopars was that if you try to wait until you have the time/money to do it right it may never get done. Perfection is the enemy of the good.

And believe it or not after I sold the body and bought the Vette I had almost enough to cover a 70 GTX basket-case thats getting body and paint done now.

But it was the Corvette that re-ignited my interest in cars!

I am a GM guy to the core, but I think Mopar just got it "right" when they made muscle cars.

My father worked for Dodge for 30 years and then started working for Chevy another 20 years, He always drove a Mopar, always. Needless to say, he loved Mopars.
