Default 80 console trim plate

Hi everyone! New to corvettes and this forum. I'm sure this question has already been asked at some point but does any one know how to remove the emergency brake console cover and the console trim plate that surrounds the shifter, ac unit, ashtray etc, on an 80 vette. I want to replace those parts. Thanks.

There are three screws in each side panel. Pull them then you can see the screws/bolts that hold the trim plate down. Remove all the bolts from the sides then screws/bolts from the front and back edges of the trim plate. Disconnect all the wires you can reach, then gently lift up the console shift plate. Once it's up a little the other wires and cables will be easier to remove. It's easier with the seats out but still possible.

Be careful reinstalling all that you took out. Don't overtighten the console mounting screws. The mounting brackets can split (ask me how I know! ). Good luck and enjoy that '80!
