I just replaced my intake with a elbrock performer manifold and now my carb almost hits my hood, what should I do? I dont want to replace my hood. Is their anyone on here thats done this to their vette? Let me know what you did if you dont mind.
Kid I bought my car from installed Gm Crate 350, with edelbrock performer rpm intake and edelbrock 1406 carb. With stock air filter hood wouldnt close, so he swapped out for 10'' x 1'' filter, which works fine, but I didnt like it so small so I bought a edelbrock 14'' x 3'' filter with a drop base and it works fine. By the way I have a 77, not sure if its the exact same.

Thanks: Gene.
Is it a performer or Performer RPM?
if its a performer the Factory Air cleaner should clear just fine..
this is my Performer with Qjet...using factory air cleaner with chrome lid...no problems at all
I have the performer intake with a Barry Grant demon carb. Had to get a drop base with an offset bolt, and like a 1''-1.25'' filter(i forgot which it was) for the hood to clear
