Has anyone here used Dynomax Race bullets? How loud are they at an idle, cruising, and WOT?
I have Flowmaster 40series now, but one of the mufflers is making an annoying high pitch sound at certian rpms. The noise started when I was breaking in my cam, and now the left side muffler screams.
If I swap mufflers I want something with a louder, deeper rumble. Those race bullets are pretty cheap but I've never heard them before.
If you want a deep rumble go with the Dynomax Super Turbos. My buddy has those on his 75 350/4 speed it sounds like a 454. Not too loud and very deep. Race bullets are very loud and not as deep. I've been meaning to post a video. I'll get around to it this weekend.
I've got a camaro drag car with 3 1/2 race bullets on it. It is really loud, it muffles it some at idle, but at WOT you might as well be running through open headers. They have a real deep sound to them! I like them for a drag car, but don't think I would have them on a street car!!
Here's a small clip of my truck w/ race bullets...they are loud enough to overpower the mic on the camera, the popping sound is a result of that...and the squeeling, no those are not belts..it's a chicken that decided he wanted his moment of fame
The engine is just a somewhat souped up 355, nothing really special..but enough for the truck. The exhaust is a pair of hooker long tubes into a 3" pipe w/ 3" bullets (the short ones, i think they're 16"???) and then it ends in a 4" S shaped pipe for looks, apart from the mufflers it's all stainless. The headers are rechromed (the stock chrome just chipped off, it now has a high quality hard chrome job) Oh and no X or H pipe. I don't like the mellowed out sound of a balance pipe.
TT, how do they tax you for the truck in Holland ? In Germany you'd pay 1200 Euro (roughly $1400) every year for that size engine without catalyc converter ... ... I think only cars older than 30 years "with historic value" get a tax break - what's the deal on your side of the border ?
