Default 69 502 purchase update

Bought it Sept 14.....have put 1397 miles on it with following results:

1.Replaced/fixed MSD 6AL...pooped out/was 6 years old...
2. Replaced power steering pump bracket...bolt vibrated out/broke bracket...
3. Getting ready to replace alternator pulley..alignment of belt to PS pulley...
4.Replaced TRW Composite spring with new special order 7 Leaf steel spring from Guldstrand Motorsports...buying Bilstien Sports...this new spring is 1 1/2" shorter than stock...but stiffer than stock due to mix of individual leafs...

The composite had a weird bounce I did not like....smooth ride, but that lope/bounce had to go...the new 7 leaf is much better..stiffer and Vette is much more stable over bumps at hwy speed...big difference...I gave the Composite to a forum member....it still is in very good shape..

Not knocking the composite..It just isn't for me...and don't trust it.....have 7 leaf on 78 and I am biased to the steel springs...

Had the same experience with a composite VBP spring. I went with the late C3 2.5" wide steel spring. Rides better than the earlier spring and easy mod to fit. As soon as the steel spring went on all the bounce went away.

It could have been the fact it was a 340#....hooked up with KYB's...did not want to get tangled up buying a stiffer composite...I knew the 7 leaf would be a sure thing...will find out how the composite works out for the guy I gave it to in a few weeks..
