this is crazy!!!! simply put..............the C3 STYLE is THE DEFINITION OF BAD ***...so as far as LOOKS GO.......they must BOW DOWN ..........and if they want to complain about ANY vette, because of how it RAN STOCK after it came from the DEALER just means they nead to get there money up and/or pretty little hands dirty to fix those problems on the car with (DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!NEW "PERFORMANCE ENHANCING" PARTS!!!!! from the FUTURE!!!!! its 2006 not 70 something........step into the future!!! on a final note: the c4 looks like a big remote control or something.............change the channel
I get more looks and thumbs-up in my C3 than I ever got in my C5. My barber (a female vette lover who's son works for Pratt-Miller) had a good C4 description from a friend: the cheese wedge.

I prefer to think of them as a rolling door stop...and a good source of engines for C3s.
I have a 79 L82, not fast but its one beautiful car, At cruse ins my c3 gets a lot more looks then the c4,c5 and c6's, AND the biggest difference!!!!! Mine is paid for.
It was not a fair ripping anyways. They were talkin about the hp and handling of the C-3 and the smog years. It was the smog years for all the cars!!!They were still the best of their time!example:1976vette vs What a 76 nova, chevelle, mustang, well you get the point.I guess if you look at it the way some of them put it,anything older than 6 months old is old news and crap.I don't understand vette guy's rippin vette guy's when we are all subject to evolution!Did the c-2 handle better than the c-3?(In stock form with its skinny tires?)I can't say.It did have some hp, but so did the 70.Was this apples to apples?I think that the looks are there in the c-3 and the rest is up to the owner! It's all fixable! I have adressed most of the things that I felt could be improved upon.I would not say that they were problems though. It was the best of it's time!
C3s in my opinion is the best looking Vette. 4 were worst. 5s were a little better, but not much. 6s are better still, but who can work on these things. I don't think that 40 years from now anyone that isn't really skilled can work on these cars. A newbie to mechanic work can get advice and finally work on the C3s. There is a lot of people on here that does that. This forum will never be a Mr. fixit for 5s and 6s. Just my opinion.

To answer your question: I have had both (C2 and C3), and the C3 handles much better than the C2 in stock form. I enjoy driving my 63, but compared to the newer Corvettes (including the C3s), the handling quality has continuously improved in the newer cars due to weight balance, suspension improvements and wider tires. I dont "get" the bashing of other generations. We need to focus on the positives vs. negatives between the different generations.

Thanks for answering that! I thought so,but I try not to make a statement that I can't back up.(intentionally! )I have never owned a c-2.(I like em though!) I agree we need to change the focus! We can give our opinions with out being cruel.(I would hope!)I would think that we (As a forum)would want to draw fellow vetters in,not put them down and run them off.Am I wrong??Or just missing something!!?

Thanks ShowMe. I have wandered away from posting on this site because of the bashing that goes on. (I know....poor baby). I am the proud owner of a '69 Can-Am widebody and feel that my vehicle is just as representitive of the 60-70's era as a NCRS perfect vehicle of the same timeframe. Without those customizers of every era, where would the auto industry be? Just MHO.

LOL, I know what you mean about the turtle thing, got the l-48 myself, but I have the same thing happen to me as a lot of other people said on here, I get a lot of thumbs up when driving around. And If I feel like burning out, I just go to the self wash and put that high pressure wax on the tires and dream of that crate engine in a couple of years...
