A '70 Challenger R/T. Or a fully restored (I don't want to do it!) '67 MGBGT with its own garage (which'd probably cost about the same as the Challenger).
Who mentioned an Atom? I tried to drag race one of those a couple of years back...... stupid, stupid, stupid mistake. Not only was I handed my ***, it was gift-wrapped
I just sold this one for my brother in law. original owner 74 1/2 260Z w/ 60K on the clock. Original drivetrain, interior, etc. No rust!! You can see all of the pics at:
i literally just sold a 1969 dodge coronet 440 that i turned in to a superbee right down to the 6 pack and lift off hood.
had it for 15 years and was really nothing left to do on it but drive
it which became kind of boring believe it or not.
half the fun for me is working on them.
i got an offer i couldnt refuse for the coronet so i sold it and put half the money on my mortgage (house should be paid off by next oct)
and used the rest of the money to buy the corvette and some parts
to throw at it.
who knows 15 years from now i may get an offer for the vette that i cant refuse and then i can buy a honda accord and restore it
My other classic is a 1958 MGA. While they're no Hot Rods, the MGA's have one of the cleanest set of lines on any car. Put the top down, find an old winding road, and just listen to that old school British Sporst car exhaust note!!!

I'd go for a '66-'69 Chevelle SS, 4-speed, any engine (SB or BB). I really like the character of both body styles (66-67 and 68-69). If I had to choose, it would be the 66-67 body style though.
...wouldn't mind getting back my "One of 612 1967 396/375hp L-78 Chevelle SS 396" back.
Paul, did you catch the High School Football Division championships this past weekend? Brother and I watched Delphos St John open up a can of whoop a** on Steubenville Central Catholic (via Ohio cable channel ONN). Wanted to see Hardin Northern there but the lost to Delphos in the 3rd round.
I think Masillon was there playing in Div 1. That Paul Brown field is nice (artificial turf).
When I got married in 82 I had 2 big block 70 challengers, a 70 elcamino and a 69 amx that I bought in 77. I could only keep one so I kept the amx, figguring it was the most unique of the bunch. I just redid it for the second time last year and its lookin pretty good again....would post a pic but I dont know how.

That sure looks like fun!
i'm figuring on taking the next several months to come up with a plan but i'm thnking an old school build on this ....keeping the flathead, dual stromberg 97s on an offy intake, edelbrock heads, dropped superbell front axle. disc brakes all the way around...not sure on what i'm going to do to the rear end....and the inside would probalby take even longer to plan.... i figure this to be a multiple year project...i just found a perfectly flat new sheetmetal dash board so any thing goes....
Seems like I'm the only one crazy enough to go for one of these...
1979 Mercedes 450SL. 145K miles, needs some minor TLC, but the price was good. I was able to put it on my Hagerty policy, so it's not costing me a fortune. And parts aren't as bad as you might think...
