Just did this on my 77 and 82.
Take off your t-top and you will see some chrome caps near the front windshield corners. Use a screwdriver to pop the caps off, one on each side. Then theres this thing that looks like a washer with little fingers on the inside of the hole that hold the sunvisor rod in. You will have to
gently and slightly bend some of fingers up or down, then use a punch or screwdriver to hit the sunvisor rod down and it should just pop out.
Note: there is a spring under the washer thing. HTH.
