74 Coupe... Thoughts?
You get what you pay for. This car looks pretty much "done", and I think that you're looking for a "done" car, not a restoration project.
I'd check the frame too, but I do that with any car. I'm not seeing any significant rust. Chuck
I do know this is an older fellow (could tell by the voice) and I do know her is not computer savvy. He had to get his wife to send me the pix because he didnt know how to "email folders".

So Im guessing they probably dont have a scanner, and the file names and resolution of these pictures tell me they were taken from a digital camera. I wonder if he would be the type to actually own a digital camera.
He did say in the last email that "since pictures were taken car has been wet sanded and buffed and looks really beautiful."
He sent me some pix so I made a web page for easy preview:

From his ad:
Opinions?
We all have to keep in mind:
1. Jerry is NOT mechanically inclined.
2. His decision is to buy a car and not start sinking $$ in it for repairs.
He made those two things clear in his first post.
That very much limits his selections.
I like the car posted...its a good match provided the inspection turns out good.
It may be kind of high for us that can repair...but those that cant repair and those that dont want to pay to have repairs done; are going to have to pay premium prices for those two reasons.
Ok, yeah...maybe Jerry will get lucky and find one ready to roll for less $$...thats a maybe and a lot of time spent.
Do I say jump on the green one?....yeah...I say jump and inspect it right away.
If its been repaired as good as those pictures show, and there is no rust hiding.
The frame: well. lots of people remove surface rust and coat them for looks and protection down the road...some people try and cover problem areas. The fact that the whole car is maticulately done, but not in those holes has me concerened...but the possibility exists that the fellow did a lot more cosmetic justice and made sure it was road worthy at the same time.
Again; jump on it and inspect it.
Thats gonna be the car for Jerry (or one like it).
All thats left after that is to try and haggle the asking price.
But as it is now; Jerry is going to pay a premium price to buy one that is in premium shape and can be driven a long time before it needs anything besides regular maintenance.
Those that can...can.
Those that cant...pay.
IMO...nice car...may be a keeper.

If thats originally a Florida car...chances of rust could be slim...could meaning: if it was by the coast...salty air intrusion leads to rust.
if mid-Florida(or away from coast)...good chance of just normal surface rust only. Thats something to ask the owner about as well.
Other thing I noticed (from the orginal ad):
"$16.500 obo"
>or best offer<
Meaning...ready to haggle.

There was a post on the first page about a FLA car that this might be, however, I cant see it. I thought the author deleted it...
one weird question though, both your ads so far state "ceramic coated headers" yet they have stock painted manifolds...what's up wit dat?

This gentleman is is somewhat computer illiterate. He didnt know how to "email folders", he had to get his wife to do send me the pix.
I looked at the file info in Photoshop and these pictures were taken with a Kodak EasyShare CX4230 Zoom Digital Camera in June 30, 2005. The underside was taken in July 8, 2005. But he doesnt seem like the type to own a digital camera. But maybe it is his wife's.
He told me he has had this car about 9 months. The pix are 6–7 months old, so if he did not take them, he is either lying or just has a fuzzy memory. Or, someone with a digital camera took them just after he bought it.
Also, it *sounds* like he lives on a farm because he told me his friend has 2 cars parked in his barn. He also said he is having a pre-built garage put in on his "field" but has to wait for either the ground to dry up or freeze. This makes me think he is on a farm.
The pictures do not look like they were taken on a traditional farm. Maybe these pictures he has could be from the person he bought it from? This might also explain why there are no tags on this car. Maybe Im just way off-base here though.
He did say he had made some modifications to the engine and I think the exhaust, although I cant recall everything he said he personally did. So it is possible he put the headers on after these pix were taken? If he put new suspension on it, that might be why the underside pictures are dated later than the other pix.
When I asked why he would sell it so soon, he said he wasnt sure why, other than he doesnt need it because he and his friend always cruise around in his friend's cars, and he was more a Camaro guy. He may look into getting a Camaro. He made it pretty clear he is in no hurry to sell it, and frankly, doesnt car if he sells it at all. He also said he wasnt just going to "give it away".
Someone posted a link to a Florida car that they thought was this same car. Id like to see it...
These pictures were taken in June and July 2005. He says he has had the car about 9 months. That means he had to buy it around March or April 2005. His ad says it was updated October 31 2005. So who knows when exactly he put the ad up.
It sure sounds like he is getting rid of it awfully fast. Unless he bought it for the sole purpose of fixing it up and then selling it for quick cash.

Notice the url has "maryland" in it.
But the title says "1982 Corvette Florida".
But if you read the description, this car is in Bethesda, Maryland.
Sounds like the site is screwed up. Which is unfortunate for this person, as the main page lists her car in Florida, when she is nowhere near it.

Scroll to very bottom.
However, I could have sworn someone posted a different link to a Florida car they remember seeing last year. But the post is gone now. If anyone has that link, Id love to see it.
