got a question on which way to go. I need to replace/repair the front end on my 81. I bounced it off a palm tree (jeesus clip fell off the brake pedal pin, the pucker factor was very high) Trashed the drivers side front fender, did a little dammage to the surround on that side. SHould I go with a one piece front end or just a new fender or an assebled pressed piece?
Not planning on building a show stopper or real concerned about maintaining original stuff.
I think it would be alot less work as well as cost to just replace the fender. If the surround is only slightly damaged you can glass the cracks after the fender is bonded on. You also will not be fooling with hood gaps and the door gap on the passenger side. You also won't have to transfer the headlight assemblies to a new surround. Good Luck, Craig
It broke loose right at the bonding strip so you got lucky in a way, I would just buy a new side fender because a front end is gonna cost ya and you don't really seem to need it.
If you are fairly close to Dallas Texas I have a front bumper you can have. Well maybe I'll trade it for a cold beer. It's too big to mail so you have to come get it.
