Default 1972 Seats

I'm trying to locate some seats for my '72. When I got the car, it was in pieces. Most all of the pieces were there. The seats were not. Can someone please provide the dimensions of factory seats? I need to know how wide the brackets were, the seat area width, and the the backrest height.

I will probably go with donar seats out of a late model Camaro or Sunfire. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Repairable or useable seats for 72 (pretty much the same for 70 - 78) are frequently available on ebay. Seat tracks are available also. 79-82 seats will also fit, but require that you use the right set of seat tracks for your car. Some people have adapted C4 and C5 seats to their C3 seat tracks. I have heard that Fiero seats will also work.

Man, that sounds like a good deal, if the frames and hardware are in good condition. You can always redye the seatcovering to your color....or buy replacement covers (and sell the tan ones if they are in good shape). It's always best to replace Corvette parts with Corvette parts [if you can].
