anyone come across a click sound on their clock every minute or so. my clock didn't work, only ran for a minute or so, i played around with the connection on the back and if i push the connector right down against the back of the clock it works, but i get the click sound every minute or so. very wierd.
There are two contact points. One is stationary that has voltage, and one on the end of the winding spring. When the point contacts meet, voltage is applied across both, which then pushes the winding spring mechinisum point to it's max travel, away from the stationary point. (click) This winds the spring. As the clock ticks, the spring slowly unwinds bringing the spring point back into contact with the stationary one....(click...rewind) probably once every minute or so. Clean up those two contacts with an ignition points file, clean up the internals and lightly oil, and make sure your grounded...should work!!!!
